Thai Optical Group Public Company Limited was initially established under the name "Thai Polymer Lens Company Limited" on 8th March 1991 by the Pracharktam family to produce organic lenses, to compliment the existing production line of Thai Optical Company Limited, manufacturing mineral lenses since 1961. The TOG factories are located north of Bangkok on the Bangbuathong-Suphanburi Road, in Nonthaburi. The Pracharktam family is currently still the majority shareholder with over a 70% stake.

TOG has obtained various industry certificates of international standards for production quality over the years, such as ISO9002: 1994 in 1995, ISO9001: 2000 in 2004 from the TÜV CERT Certification Body of RWTUV System GmBh (TÜV CERT), as well as the 'Golden Certificate' for export business operations from the Custom Department in 2000. Furthermore, TOG changed status to become a 'public company limited'on 4th February 2004.

From modest beginnings with much ambition, TOG has developed into the leading Thai manufacturer of optical lenses, with a much deserved solid reputation in its field on an international level:
1991 - The Company was established under the name "Thai Polymer Lens Company Limited" with support from the BOI to produce 3 million organic optical lenses.

1992
- Complete factory construction and machine installation, with the start of CR39® lens production.

1993
- Installation of new machinery to expand CR39® production lines, and introduction of hardcoating and multi-coating machines to start surface treatments with the production of coated and multi-coated lenses.
- Expansion of production lines for hardcoated and multi-coated lenses with new machinery.
- Experimentation on progressive lens production processes.

1995
- Awarded ISO 9002:1994 certificate by TÜV CERT.
- Launch of progressive lens production.

1998
- Experimentation and development of photochromic lens production processes.
- Start of photochromic lens production.
1999
- Launch of photochromic progressive lens production.

2000
- Awarded Golden Certificate for international business by the Customs Department.
- Expansion of production lines for hardcoated and multi-coated lenses.
2002
- Experimentation and development of production processes for high index lenses and high impact resistant lenses.

2003
- Obtained ISO9001:2000 certificate from TÜV CERT.
- Restructuring of the Company and purchasing of 99.99% shares in Thai Optical Company Limited.
- Renaming of the Company to "Thai Optical Group Limited" on November 3, 2003.
- Start of organic high index lens production and launch of high impact resistant lenses.

2004
- Bought 15.85 acres of land behind the factory for future expansion at the price of 7.83 million Baht.
- January 30, 2004, signing of the agreement to sell 25.3 acres of land with Sinthai Estate Company Limited for 38.5 million Baht. This piece of land was previously rented for the location of the factory.
- February 4, 2004, registration as public company with the name "Thai Optical Group Public Company Limited".
- Expansion of high impact resistant lens production with the installation of a 2nd production line.
- Construction of a new warehouse to cater to increase in production output of high index and high impact resistant lenses.
- October 19, 2004, conferred the 2004 Outstanding Technologist Award from the Foundation Science and Technology under the Patronage of His Majesty the King for Trivex™ material lens research and development.

2005
- Expansion the 3rd line of high impact resistant lens production.
- Completed warehouse construction on September 2005 and moved inventory on December 2005.
- Experimented with and further developed water repellant coating processes.

2006
- March 30, 2006, bought office at 77/142 Sinn Sathorn Tower, 33rd Floor, area 354.22 sq.m.
- Issued shares by Initial Public Offering on May 8-9, 2006, at the price of 2.80 Baht per share and had the first day trading on May 16, 2006.
- September 27, 2006, bought a land from Sin Thai Estate Co.,Ltd, area 25.3 acres at the amount of 29.2 million Baht.

2007
- June 22, 2007, bought office at 77/59 Sinn Sathorn Tower, 16th Floor, area 240.04 sq.m, as product training center.
